RECURSIVE PUBLIC
AN EXPERIMENT IN COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE FOR AI GOVERNANCE
Recursive Public is an experiment in identifying areas of
consensus and disagreement among the international Artificial Intelligence (AI) community, policymakers, and the general public on key questions of governance.
We are a community of friends from around the world working in government, academia, civil society and industry.
Through tried and tested democratic methods, we provide a space for individuals and organisations to test and refine statements, policies and assumptions with fellow thinkers in the AI space, and build collective documents to help guide decisions about the future of the technology.
We hope you'll consider taking part.
We’re starting with an open process - a laboratory you can use to test your thinking, statements, and messages with others around the globe.
Join us and community members from around the world to come together, set the agenda on AI governance, and pilot participatory decision-making in this frontier space.
-
Identify priorities across the community
-
Deliberate on key AI alignment issues
-
Shape a collectively-developed message about what needs to happen with AI

PROCESS & OUTPUTS
ONLINE DELIBERATIONS
We host a number of online deliberations on the platform pol.is, supported by small online discussions. These deliberations are both high level, agenda-setting activities and deep-dives into specific areas of interest as identified by the community.
ROLLING AI AGENDA
The results of agenda-setting deliberations will be made public on this site, acting as a snapshot of community opinions in AI debates.
DEEP DIVE REPORTING
Deliberations on narrower questions of AI alignment will be shared publicly and summarised by the community for use by AI decision-makers.
